Meet the team

Dr Bigg

Dr Trevor Bigg

Dr Bigg has been looking after his patients in West Oxfordshire for over 40 years. During this time he has treated up to four generations of some families and this experience has contributed to our philosophy of care.

Too often in the past, teeth have been restored by cutting away tooth tissue. Once this is lost, it cannot be re-gained. The best dentistry relies on as little removal of tooth tissue as possible. No treatment will be prescribed to you until you are aware of the consequences and what will be needed to maintain it in the future. When treatment is necessary, we will always try to choose the least destructive option in your best long-term interests.

Awards

Dr Bigg has the Membership in General Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons, London and the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and London and from the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an Anglo-American diploma.

These qualifications are only awarded to dentists who are at the top of their profession. Dr Bigg is also a Past President of the British Society for General Dental Surgery and was presented the ‘Straumann Award for Outstanding Achievements in the field of Dentistry’ 2011.

Our Receptionist

Penny Clarke

Penny Clarke

Penny is your first point of contact at the practice and she ensures that your visit is a pleasant one.  It’s Penny’s job to book your appointments so that they suit your schedule and to prioritise emergencies so that patients in pain are seen as soon as possible.  Penny also liaises between the patients and the clinical staff and can find the answers to any questions you may have about your treatment.

The Nurses

Our team of dental nurses assist our dentists to make sure dental procedures flow smoothly. They prepare the surgery, mix materials and are responsible for the cross-infection control. Like all good assistants they have to plan ahead and keep smiling!

Liz Franklin

Liz Franklin

Liz joined the practice in 2019, but has had many year’s experience as a dental nurse working in local practices.  Liz is efficient and caring, with a lovely smile that helps settle the nervous patient!
